Cultural Crafts Hunting

I have now been in Japan for about a year now, finally settled in and now exploring Traditional Japanese Crafts.  So this part of my Journey is about to happen.

Currently planning trips to Wakayama, Fukui and Kyoto to try and visit and learn more about Crafts produced in the area.  These areas are known for their Washi (Paper Making), Urushi (Lacquerware), Woodworking, Fabrics, Weaving and Metalwork.

I’m particularly interested in Crafts from Wakayama, as this is the birthplace of my grandparents and if I can promote their crafts and the City of Wakayama, I feel that I would be paying honor to them.
