I’m a third generation (Sansei) born and raised in the United States. One of my grandparents was born and lived in Esumi, Wakayama, Japan. Immigrated to the United States in the every early 1900’s looking for new opportunities.
As I grew up in the United States I continue to understand who I am, my outlook on life, why do I do things in a certain way.
Visiting my Grandparents birthplace I was able to obtaining their Family Registry (Koseki) and visiting the area in which they lived.
I continue to investigate my ancestry documenting it as I gather more information.
I search to understand who I really am.
